About

People To People Student Ambassador Program was started by our 34th president, Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1956.    President Eisenhower had a "vision to create a global community based on trust, respect, and an understanding of other cultures, economies, and political systems."  He firmly believed that encounters between people of different native backgrounds would allow and generate world peace.  People to People was created in order to make true one of the cornerstones of his vision, which was to create direct interaction between students of different cultures, customs, and race.   As our past President John F. Kennedy once said, "People to People activities... assert a single theme - the power of people, acting as individuals to respond imaginatively to the world's need for peace."  People to People gives students the opportunity to promote peace, friendship, and understanding by traveling and interacting with the people of other nations.

This program allows students to experience cultures of other nations hands-on such as attending schools, staying with families and taking part in daily activities, and experiencing natural phenomenas up-close and personal such as snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.  One could also interact with the natural animals of the region such as the Koala Bear or the Great Panda Bear, and visit astonishing landmarks such as the Sydney Opera House, the Ancient Pyramids of Egypt, the Eiffel Tower, or Leaning Tower of Pisa.  Every adventure is fun-filled, exciting, and a wonderful once in a lifetime experience.

Dwight D. Eisenhower once said, "If people get together, so eventually will nations."  The People to People Student Ambassador Program holds fast to the ideology of our past president and his vision of creating a better more united world.
