Saturday, July 13 Te Puna, New Zealand Day 14
Today we spent the day in Auckland exploring the city of sails. Our tour guide gave us a tour of the neighborhoods around Auckland and briefed us on the history of how Auckland received its name. They also won the America’s Cup in 2002 which is an award for sailing. We were let loose in the streets of Auckland to explore and it was a lot of fun. Then we met back at the bus and we began to make our journey to Te Puna where we were to spend the night in a Maori reservation. The dinner was delicious and we had the pleasure to seeing Maori men and women dance their native dance. We were able to dance with them too. That night we all slept in the same room and the leaders slept in the middle with the boys on one side and the girls on the other.
